50 years ago (1954)
Friendship Camp No. 3553, Royal Neighbors of America, was to conduct an initiation of candidates in the Masonic Temple. Officers were requested to wear street dresses. Serving on the refreshment committee were Gladys Maxson, Eva Bailey, Vera Adamson and Edith Blackburn.
Hardtop convertibles, which had been exclusively two-door jobs with their introduction five years ago, were now available with four doors. Oldsmobile engineers made it possible. The new type of body design was known as the 98 Deluxe Holiday sedan. Olds designers were certain the trend would be followed by other carmakers.
25 years ago (1979)
Boeing was optimistic about the next decade saying that there would be steady growth. Twenty years ago the 727 was new. Ten years a go the 747 was new. In the 1980s Boeing would begin assembling the first new models of the 767 and 757 in Everett and Renton.
