Veteran Everett merchant Moe Silverstone was retiring after more than 35 years in business. Since 1918, Silverstone operated a women’s apparel store, the past 27 years at 1512 Hewitt Ave. A new apparel shop was to move in.
Hazel Gates of Swalwell Road was to be hostess to the Mountainview Home and Garden Club. Roll call would be answered by naming "quick tricks for housecleaning."
Lee Renney purchased Healthworks at Everett Mall from William Yeekel, and planned to manage the frozen and natural foods store. Renney had nine years experience in food service.
Dairymen throughout the state were to meet in Everett for a series of industry-related educational programs. The Northwest Dairy Shortcourse, sponsored by Washington State University Extension Service and the dairy industry, would take place at the Everett Holiday Inn.
