The management of Everett Bon Marche announced the appointment of Elsie Nelson as department head of the newly expanded fur salon. Nelson had been operating a fur shop here for five years. An Everett resident for 16 years, she was active in the Soroptimist Club.
Charles Buennagel had taken over Dean’s Pharmacy, 1610 Hewitt Ave., from S. Gordon Hall. Buennagel, his wife and their six children made their home on View Drive.
Tony Whitefield, head football coach at Everett High School, had a special way of easing the pressure during football season: he was a cartoonist. Whitefield said it was good therapy when he picked up his pencil and started to draw stratagems for winning games.
Kenneth Stephens joined Cascade Culvert Inc. in Arlington as marketing manager for the firm’s new metal building division. Lloyd Larsen, president of the firm, said Stephens would direct the company’s statewide program, which would be centered in Snohomish County. A new building was under construction to allow increased production.
