Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mackey were to celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary. Married in Michigan, the couple came to Everett in 1903. Mackey was one of the founders of Washington Stove Works and was later in the grocery business here. The couple had one son, Stuart Mackey, and made their home at 2131 Lombard Ave.
Members of Marysville’s Up-to-date Home Demonstration Club were meeting at the home of Margaret Davis with Dorothy McMillen as co-hostess. They would be making glo-candles and decorations for the state council banquet.
Former President Gerald Ford was at Paine Field stumping for 2nd Congressional District candidate John Nance Garner. Ford spoke about the inflation problem during the present administration.
Robert Alexander and Harry Kluge announced the sale of Alexander Printing Co. of Everett to Jerry Wynne. The company had been in business at 2918 Wetmore Ave. since 1946. Wynne, an Everett native, had worked in the printing trade locally for 10 years. The sale was handled through attorney Michael Moore.
