50 years ago (1963)
Marlene Nelson of Cascade Savings and Loan explained operation of a bookkeeping machine to Glenda Fetter of Everett High School and Tom Libby of Cascade High as a part of a day-long tour by business education students of the institution, Everett Abstract and Title and the Snohomish County Auditor’s office.
Richard Michael and Steven James Pendergrass were celebrating their birthdays together. Ricky was two years old on May 8 and Steven was one today. They were the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Pendergrass of Everett. Grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Ture Olofson of Everett and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pendergrass, Snohomish.
25 years ago (1988)
A book published by Owl Creek Press, a non-profit literary publishing firm owned and operated by Rich Ives, English instructor at Everett Community College, was one of three winners of the Western States Book Awards to be announced May 27 at the American book Sellers Assoc. convention in Anaheim, Calif.
Kevin Erickson, a Cascade High School graduate, was graduated cum laude from Western Washington University at the end of last quarter with two degrees: business and parks and recreation.
