A yen for Pacific Northwest living stuck with The Brothers Four, the famed quartet who got their start at the University of Washington. They were presenting a concert tomorrow night in the Cascade High School auditorium. It was sponsored by the Everett Junior College Associated Men Students.
Donald A. Senter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Senter of Marysville, formerly of Everett, was presented the Story Senate Founders’ Scholarship at a luncheon held by the Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity of the University of Washington.
25 years ago (1989)
Baytown Café on the fourth floor of downtown Everett’s Bon Marche was having an election day lunch and dinner special tomorrow. The baked chicken special with vegetable, baked potato and apple pie was $5.95. They invited citizens to join them after they voted.
The state Utilities and Transportation Commission would likely grant a petition by national rail carrier Amtrak to increase maximum rail speeds in the Sultan and Monroe area, Sultan mayor John Walker acknowledged today. Walker, as well as Monroe officials, were strongly opposed to the increase.
