50 years ago (1964)
The Gourmet Gallery currently had a one-person show of paintings by Mary Lee King of Everett. She was a members of a small group of local painters struggling to find time to paint more.
Cub Scout Pack 14 held its annual Pinewood Derby at Roosevelt School. Winners were Kenneth Anderson, Marty Backstrom, Kevin McLaughlin and Wayne Perry. Den 2 presented the colors. Receiving awards were Bill Atkinson, Steve Miller, Mike Peterson, Doug Butler and Steve Butler.
25 years ago (1989)
Charlie Betts, Everett Gospel Mission director, said about 200 ham and turkey dinners were served this year on Thanksgiving. Also helping out for the sixth year were Arlene and Gordon Kimball. Krysta Jacobs, 8, of Woodinville, and her family were among the others who helped serve.
Curt Enlow, of Arlington, who returned to work this week at Boeing, got a little help from his son Ian while preparing their family Thanksgiving dinner. Many of the workers had something for which to be thankful. Bob King of south Everett said it made the holiday so much nicer.
