Senate Republicans unveiled a new two-year budget proposal Thursday that would fully fund negotiated pay raises for state workers, increase support for state parks and expand mapping of landslide-prone areas of the state.
Sen. Andy Hill, R-Redmond, said this updated plan encompasses the elements in the latest offer to House Democrats. Hill said he hopes that by making it public it will spur negotiations as the Legislature concludes a special session today and begins another as early as Friday.

The Senate Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on the new spending plan at 1 p.m. but it is not expected to be voted on by the full Senate today.
