SPOKANE — The National Weather Service says a late season winter storm brought snow back to Washington today with heavy amounts in the Cascades and parts of Eastern Washington.
Interstate 90 reopened about 1:30 p.m. today after it was closed across Snoqualmie Pass at midday because of heavy snow, poor visibility and multiple accidents, the state Transportation Department said.
Westbound lanes remained closed at milepost 71 near Easton.
The Weather Service issed a winter storm warning until 6 p.m. for the Cascades. Forecasters said accumulations since Wednesday night would be 1-2 feet.
Snow was blamed for multiple spin-out accidents on Highway 18 near the Tiger Mountain summit.
In Eastern Washington the Weather Service forecast 1 to 3 inches of snow in the Spokane area and 2 to 4 inches around Pullman by Thursday night.
