The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club recently named its Students of the Month for February.
Kasey Adams enrolled at ACES High School last fall after attending Mariner High School the previous three years. She had been active in jazz choir and drama, as well as tutoring middle school students.
Mariana Cardona, of Cascade High School, is in National Honor Society and is the senior class secretary. She has held leading roles in several student-led events, including the annual food drive. She plans to attend Everett Community College.
Karli DuBois, also of Cascade, is in student government and leads Interact Club, a Rotary-sponsored leadership program. She also is cheer captain and helps with charitable causes. The Girl Scout came in the Top 10 for cookie sales. She plans to attend Western Washington University.
Aurelio Valdez-Barajas, of Mariner High School, is a student leader. He helped organize Mariner Latino Day, has helped feed the homeless at Thanksgiving for two years, and is a minister at his church. He plans to attend the University of Washington.
Aware Deshmukh, of Kamiak High School, is second in her class and a Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award recipient. She leads the school’s math team and also was involved in choir, Winter Guard, art and Knowledge Bowl. She plans to attend the University of Chicago or University of Washington.
