SPOKANE — A Spokane city council candidate is refusing to disclose where he’s getting his campaign money.
In a May filing with the state Public Disclosure Commission, Chris Bowen said he spent about $18,000 and had another $14,000 on hand, but he didn’t file other required paperwork.
The Spokesman-Review reported the commission is investigating Bowen because of a complaint filed by the former president of the Spokane County Young Republicans.
When a reporter asked for the fundraising information last week, Bowen replied that state law required election books to be shown by appointment, and all his appointments for the primary had been filled.
