SPOKANE — A jury in Spokane acquitted a police officer of charges he kicked a handcuffed suspect in the face.
Officer Rob Boothe wept and hugged his wife after Thursday’s verdict and accepted congratulations from officers in the courtroom.
He still faces an internal investigation. Two other officers testified Boothe kicked a suspect in September of last year after a stolen car and foot chase. Boothe said he shifted his feet but never kicked.
The Spokesman-Review reports Boothe is a 15-year veteran and one of four master firearms instructors in the state.
