U.S. 2 is again closed at Stevens Pass this morning due to poor conditions, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Several semi trucks have become stuck near the summit, a repeat of Thursday’s problems, which closed the road for more than 8 hours, Trooper Kirk Rudeen said. State Transportation Department crews will try to clean up the mess to make the road passable, but there is no timetable for reopening, he said.
The state’s other main east-to-west highway, I-90, remains closed at Snoqualmie Pass. Heavy snow was forecast to continue falling over the Cascade Mountains today.
