MONROE — A Sultan man walking along U.S. 2 east of Monroe was hit by a car and injured Saturday night.
The man, 53, was eastbound on the shoulder of the highway around 5:35 p.m. when he stepped onto the road, the Washington State Patrol said. He was hit by an eastbound vehicle, and taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The cause of the collision was under investigation, and the extent of the man’s injuries was not clear.
