EVERETT — Mason County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 45-year-old Bremerton man Wednesday in connection with the murder of a missing Bothell woman who was found dead in Mason County just under four months ago.
On Sept. 15, deputies found a deceased woman located on timberland near Highway 3 and Pickering Road. Law enforcement identified the woman as Mallory Barbour, 27, who was last seen leaving her home on June 24, according to a Mason County Sheriff’s Office’s social media post said.
Based on indications at the scene, law enforcement determined Barbour died of homicidal violence, and her remains were left for an extended period of time, the post said.
On Wednesday, detectives arrested the suspect and booked him into Mason County Jail, a Mason County Sheriff’s Office social media post said.
The next day, he had his first appearance in court, where a judge set no bail, a Mason County Sheriff’s Office social media post said. As of Thursday, prosecutors have 72 hours to file charges.
If filed, his next court appearance will be scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday in Mason County, where he will enter a plea, and a hearing may be set to re-address bail, the post said.
