LYNNWOOD — A police pursuit in Lynnwood early Monday started with a theft at a construction site.
A sergeant reportedly saw a Ford F-250 speeding off from the site with a load of electrical wire about 3:30 a.m.
That was in the area of Alderwood Mall Parkway and Maple Road, where a Costco and a new road are being built. The truck’s driver sped off from an attempted traffic stop, according to police. A chase wound onto 164th Street SW.
The pursuit reached speeds of at least 55 mph on Ash Way. At some point, the suspect reportedly rammed the police car with the truck. After turning onto 44th Avenue W., he bailed out and ran, and then was caught by a police dog.
The man, 28, was being booked for investigation of eluding, assault and burglary. The sergeant had minor undisclosed injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
