MONROE — Monroe police were searching for a man suspected of hitting his girlfriend’s son in the head with a crowbar Monday.
Police believe the two men were arguing over seating arrangements in a car around 3:30 p.m., while parked outside of the local offices of the state Department of Social and Health Services in the 19700 block of U.S. 2, police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
The older man attacked his girlfriend’s son, 26, with the crowbar, according to police. The injured man was taken to a local hospital with a closed wound to his head. He was conscious and breathing.
The suspect took the weapon with him, Willis said. A witness told police he fled in a silver sedan outside of a Subway on the south side of the highway. He was described as bald, about 240 pounds, with white Nike shoes and a gray button-down shirt.
The attacker had not been located as of Monday evening.
