RENTON — Firefighters say an overnight fire at a church and community center in Renton is suspicious.
The fire about 2 a.m. Thursday burned up the side of the building that houses the Church of Grace and Ukrainian Community Center.
KIRO-TV reported the fire spread from some pallets and other materials stacked near a trash bin. Flames reached the roof and burned attic space above an auditorium. The building also has water damage.
John Hettick with the Renton Fire Department said the obvious evidence is suspicious, but the cause will have to be determined by investigators.
