EVERETT — A bomb threat at the Snohomish County Jail led to an evacuation Wednesday.
An inmate sent in an anonymous note to jail staff claiming there was a bomb in a package in the lobby, sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said. Only the lobby was cleared of people around 3:20 p.m.
Police shut down a block of Oakes Avenue in downtown Everett. Meanwhile, the courthouse and county offices remained open.
The bomb squad found no sign of explosives, and the lobby reopened within an hour.
