Flu vaccinations begin Oct. 31

Swine flu immunizations will be offered at vaccination clinics throughout the county beginning Oct. 31. The vaccine is not recommended at this time for seniors because they have not been as hard hit by the virus as those age 24 and younger.

Public health officials hope to provide the shot to all others who want it in December. More vaccine clinics are being planned for November and December.

The vaccine is free and, for now, being offered to the following groups:

n Pregnant women

n People who have contact with infants under 6 months

n Children and young adults from 6 months to 24 years old

n People 25 to 64 years old with chronic health conditions

n Teachers and child-care workers

n Health care and emergency services personnel

For the latest information, go to: www.snohd.org or www.snocoflu.com. If you have questions, call the county’s flu hot line at 425-388-5088.
