EVERETT — Thieves are targeting empty businesses in Everett, and police are asking for help finding them.
In the past few weeks, burglars have hit the buildings that used to house Top Foods and Circuit City on Everett Mall Way, and the old Bally Total Fitness building on Evergreen Way. Damage and losses from the burglaries is estimated at $350,000, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
The thieves cleaned out each building for wiring and electrical systems, Goetz said. They seem to know what they’re doing and cut power to the buildings before they started stealing, he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Everett police at 425-257-8450.
