Toddler drowns in small inflatable pool

GRANDVIEW — Grandview police said a toddler has died over the weekend after drowning in a small inflatable pool.

Sgt. David Palacios told the Tri-City Herald that the girl slipped out the back door of a home Saturday night and was found in the pool about 10 minutes later. She was taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital, where she died.

Police aren’t releasing the name of the girl.

Palacios advises parents to be cautious with children and swimming pools, even when water is shallow.
