Transit bus rear-ended in Everett

EVERETT — A city bus was rear-ended while off-loading a passenger Wednesday evening.

The bus was stopped at Evergreen Way and Bruin Boulevard shortly before 8 p.m. and was off-loading a passenger in a wheelchair when an SUV struck it from behind, Everett Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Johnston said.

Nobody on the bus was hurt. Medics drove the SUV driver to a local hospital as a precaution.
