Eino Moks of Everett writes about large car carriers that periodically park in the center turn lane of 112th Street SW just west of Evergreen Way.
“The first effect is that the cars exiting from the side-by-side driveways from the Washington Emission Check station and a side entry from Camelot Apartments are forced to turn to go west as their path is blocked by the car carrier,” Moks said. “Most of the cars usually turn east. The first possibility to reverse direction is the back entry to Walmart. At times when there is significant eastbound Boeing traffic things get hairy.
“I think that the situation is an invitation to a major accident,” he said.
Safety is a priority, but if the car carrier is actively loading or unloading, it probably isn’t doing anything illegal, said Everett Police officer Aaron Snell, who reviewed the city’s various parking rules in trying to pinpoint an answer for this one.
“Drivers (and delivery drivers) need to exercise due diligence and be careful when approaching these types of situation,” he added.
