EVERETT — Police continued to look for suspects and evidence in the shooting Tuesday that left a man dead in a south Everett parking lot.
They seized a pickup truck littered with blood, spent shells and suspected methamphetamine, according to court documents.
Detectives also were looking for two vehicles seen driving from the area, a white Ford Explorer and a silver or grey compact, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said Wednesday.
“The lead investigator is hitting the pavement and following up on any leads that might have developed over the last 24 hours,” he said.
The Snohomish County medical examiner on Wednesday hadn’t yet identified the slain man.
Early Tuesday, an anonymous caller led police to a parking lot in the 8700 block of Holly Drive, Goetz said. They found the man, who was in his mid-to-late 40s, lying dead on the ground outside a Ford Ranger pickup.
He was shot in the head, according to a search warrant filed Wednesday in Everett District Court.
The pickup’s windshield had been broken and there were shell casings and blood inside the truck’s cab, court documents said.
Several spent shell casings were found near the man’s body and in the parking lot. Detectives also seized a woman’s purse that was found in the parking lot.
Officers on Tuesday talked to residents of the two apartment buildings that share the parking lot where the man was found, Goetz said.
Several people heard multiple gunshots. No one living there saw anything, he said.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the Everett Police tip line at 425-257-8450.
