SPOKANE — Two historic Spokane restaurants are heavily damaged after a fire swept through their buildings Sunday night.
Authorities said Spokane firefighters were called to the three-alarm fire around 9 p.m. at Mary Lou’s Milk Bottle in the Garland district.
Officials said firefighters sprayed Mary Lou’s historic milk bottle building with foam to try to stop the flames from spreading.
The Spokesman-Review reported crews had to pull back when heavy flames spread next door to Ferguson’s Cafe.
Ferguson’s Cafe originally opened in the 1930s and had recently opened again after closing in 2009.
The diner has been featured in the Hollywood films “Vision Quest,” “Benny & Joon” and “Why Would I Lie?”
