SKYKOMISH — A 1-mile stretch of U.S. 2 was closed for hours in both directions Sunday because of the Bolt Creek fire near Skykomish.
It reopened by 8:45 p.m.
The highway was closed to traffic, except for emergency vehicles and wildfire crews, between mileposts 49 and 50, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The detour used the Old Cascade Highway to the 5th Street bridge.
