Video: Car fire briefly closed all lanes of eastbound U.S. 2 trestle

The driver was not in the vehicle at the time of the fire, troopers say.

EVERETT — Law enforcement briefly closed all lanes of eastbound U.S. 2 on the trestle west of Highway 204 due to a vehicle fire on Saturday.

Around 9:50 a.m. Saturday, law enforcement responded to reports of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames near milepost 2, according to a Washington State Department of Transportation social media post.

The driver was not in the vehicle at the time of the fire, said Washington State Patrol spokesperson Kelsey Harding.

Around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, law enforcement reopened both lanes, the post said.
