EVERETT — The USS Abraham Lincoln plans to leave Thursday to take part in a month-long training exercise off the coast of Southern California.
A carrier air wing including several aircraft squadrons, a destroyer squadron consisting of the USS Halsey, USS Momsen, USS Shoup and USS Sterett, and the guided missile cruiser USS Cape St. George will join the Lincoln in the group training exercises to prepare for deployment.
The Shoup and Momsen are homeported in Everett. The Halsey, Sterett and Cape St. George are homeported in San Diego, Calif.
The USS Lincoln returned to Everett in May.
