SEATTLE — Violence broke out the past two days at middle schools in Seattle.
Police arrested two teens during a disturbance Tuesday evening at the Meany Middle School graduation ceremony. On Monday, a girl knocked a boy unconscious with her backpack at Denny Middle School.
Police say the disturbance at Meany broke out when off-duty officers recognized a 16-year-old girl who had been ordered to stay away from the school. A crowd gathered and attempted to interfere with her trespassing arrest. A 14-year-old girl was arrested for investigation of assault.
In Monday’s incident at Denny, the 12-year-old girl told KING-TV it was retaliation for a year’s worth of sexual harassment.
The school district says it has a zero tolerance policy for bullying.
