I-5 isn’t the only major state route that’s lined up with cars this evening.
The lines at the state’s ferry terminals are long as well, said Susan Harris-Huether, a spokeswoman for Washington State Ferries.
“The wait is two hours at Mukilteo and 90 minutes at Edmonds,” Harris-Huether said. “Hopefully it’ll die down soon. Usually by about 7 p.m. (on big holiday traffic days) we die down. They have gotten to grandmas by then.”
