MOSCOW, Idaho — School district health officials have confirmed that three children from northern Idaho have been diagnosed with pertussis, or whooping cough.
The cases come less than a month after a report of a mumps outbreak in the same area.
Moscow School District Superintendent Greg Bailey says students at both an elementary school and high school were diagnosed with the disease.
Bailey is urging parents to make sure their children’s shots are up to date.
At Lena Whitmore School, the district’s elementary school, roughly 7 percent of the student body is not immunized.
