EUGENE, Ore. — The wife of a University of Oregon physics professor has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for stabbing him.
A Lane County Circuit Court judge sentenced 57-year-old Regina Grace Claypool-Frey after finding her guilty Friday of attempted assault.
The Register-Guard reports she had been indicted on an attempted murder charge but it was reduced to attempted assault after she agreed not to dispute the evidence.
Raymond Frey was stabbed in the head in September and treated at a hospital. He filed for divorce in October.
