EVERETT — Some wore Dorothy the Dinosaur hats, others carried wiggly guitars, and one fan had a big red car on his head.
Whatever their attire, the audience, at an average height of 2 feet 10 inches, rocked the house at the Everett Events Center Tuesday as children’s entertainers The Wiggles took the stage.
The Wiggles, arguably the most popular children’s group around, performed a colorful, nonstop set of wiggly hits such as "Hot Potato" and "Can You Point Your Fingers and Do the Twist."
Tuesday’s 7 p.m. show was the second of four in Everett. The Wiggles play two more shows today.
Hailing from Australia, Jeff Fatt, Murray Cook, Anthony Field and Greg Page have been wiggling, singing and dancing around the world for 12 years — a lot longer than some of their fans have been alive.
Songs like "Light’s, Camera, Action," and "Play Your Guitar With Murray" sent kids and other audience members bouncing up and down, throwing their arms in the air.
Audience members ranging in age from a few months old to seniors got a chance to have photos taken with Fatt and Cook. Those Wiggles ran up and down the aisles at the events center waving to the crowd and collecting armfuls of roses for one of their troupe, Dorothy the Dinosaur, queen of the roses.
The show clipped along with singing and dancing by children and adults, who got their laughs in when Captain Feathersword did a snippet of "Iron Man" by Ozzy Osbourne and a quick impersonation of Captain Cher.
The crowd left the arena skipping and yawning, ready for the land of nod, where Wiggle dreams, though cool, won’t be as much fun as the Everett show.
