A friendly wager on a game of pool in an Edmonds pub took a violent turn last month, leaving one man with serious head injuries and another facing a felony robbery charge.
Two men agreed to put up $20 during a game of billiards lasts month. They agreed that the winner would win the cash.
A Seattle man wasn’t happy about losing. He grabbed the 40 bucks off the table and ran out of McFinster’s Pub on Highway 99. The winner, out his $20 and his winnings, followed after the sore loser. He caught up with the man and asked for his money.
The Seattle man hauled off and punched the guy in the face. The victim fell to the ground. The suspect bent down and took the unconscious man’s pool cue and fled. A witness found the unconscious man outside and called 911. The victim ended up at Harborview Medical Center, where doctors treated him for bleeding on his brain.
Another witness had followed the punching pool player and led police to him. The man tried to outrun and outwrestle police. He lost, again.
Prosecutors on Friday charged the guy with second-degree robbery. They alleged that he caused excessive injuries during the crime.
