MUKILTEO — A two-alarm house fire in the Lake Serene area sent a woman to the hospital with life-threatening injuries early Friday.
Neighbors called 911 at 2:51 a.m. to report a home was on fire in the 5300 block of 134th Place SW, just south of Mukilteo.
South County Fire crews arrived at the scene and saw flames had engulfed the front of the house. They rescued a woman from the blaze. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to South County Fire spokesperson Leslie Hynes.
Nobody else was injured. A man and two sons, ages 14 and 21, were able to escape the house. They were displaced.
Firefighters rescued a dog and put a pet mask on its snout to provide oxygen. The dog appeared unharmed and was up and walking around outside during the fire.
The Everett Fire Department and the Mukilteo Fire Department assisted. It took the three departments about 40 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
A damage estimate was not immediately available.
