A Kirkland-area woman faces a potential felony robbery charge after fleeing a high-end Lynnwood makeup store with $145 worth of goods Tuesday night.
The woman, 21, allegedly pushed a security officer while trying to run away with the items, according to the arrest report filed by Lynnwood police.
The whole story smacks of one bad decision after another. It happened about 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Alderwood mall.
A security officer told police she saw the woman and a man walking around the makeup store. The woman selected several items, removed their packaging and put them in her purse.
When she and the man left the store, they were confronted.
The woman allegedly pushed the security officer at least twice, and her man friend grabbed the officer so she could get away. Another security officer had to pull the man off.
The first officer also suffered a scratch to her left thumb.
The duo ran away, but police caught them close by. Witnesses saw the woman run into a restaurant at the mall complex.
The woman reportedly told police she pushed the security officer because she “got scared.”
She is believed to be homeless. She and the man both were booked into jail for investigation of second-degree robbery.
