10th LD, Senate: St. Clair a leader for health care

As an urgent care nurse practitioner and a voter in the 10th Legislative District, I believe that we need political leaders who will improve access to care. Too many patients cannot afford the cost of their insurance premiums and co-pays for visits, labs and diagnostic tests. The consequences of delaying evaluation or treatment can lead to more episodic and expensive health care costs later-on. While these issues continue to grow, we see large health care organizations consolidate and provide fewer affordable options for patients.

Our health system also faces a growing issue with recruiting and retaining nurses. Nurses continue to deal with unsafe staffing conditions and workplace violence. We need a senator in Olympia who is not afraid to stand up to large organizations and insurance companies to act in the best interests of frontline workers and all patients.

Janet St. Clair is a proven leader who is committed to standing up for all residents in the 10th district. As a social worker, she navigated a system to act in the best interests of children and vulnerable populations. She understands that we need to improve the affordability of prescription drugs and insurance. Because of her continued role as an advocate and her understanding of what nurses and patients need, it is not surprising that she has earned the endorsement of the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA) PAC. Please join me in supporting Janet St. Clair for state Senate for the 10th legislative district this November!”
