For those of you who want a re-vote for governor, think about this. The premise for the new election is to make sure that all the people who voted will have their vote counted for the candidate of their choice. If you did not vote in the first election, you have no right to vote in a new election. There was no problem with your vote that required a determination as to who it was for. Your vote was not misinterpreted, rejected, lost, denied or thrown away, and you were not disenfranchised. This is not an election to include those who were too apathetic or lazy to vote in the first election. Also, you have no right to complain about the results of the election if you didn’t vote.
If you are an out-of-state or overseas voter who received your ballot too late to get it back before the election, but could have gotten it back by the extended date for those type of ballots, but threw it away instead of mailing it back in, then you also have no excuse or right to vote in a new election.
Since this new “special” election would be to determine whether Dino Rossi or Christine Gregoire is to become the next governor of our state, theirs are the only names that should be allowed on the new ballot and there should be no option for write-in candidates.
Lastly, it is not valid to use the second election in Ukraine as a reason for us to have another election as their election was rife with proven, not alleged, voter fraud and corruption.
