Maybe some people should think again of their opinions of Tim Eyman as a true leader. From what I have seen so far, Tim Eyman is only interested in the matters that benefit Tim Eyman’s concerns. Well, I’ve got news for you, all of the people in this state don’t happen to be young, healthy, attractive, own a nice home and expensive cars. Many are just the opposite and have had to struggle all their lives just to exist. A true leader must look at all the citizens and do his or her best for everyone, and not just for what benefits him. Tim Eyman should look around and get out on the street, ride a bus, go to a senior home, and essentially try to understand that everyone does not fall into the same category as he does. Also, when we are young and have everything going for us, we don’t think about the fact that we will be old one day, perhaps handicapped, or that a catastrophe could completely alter our life.
Yes, a true leader must be a leader for all. This is a tough job and it is not accomplished with self-serving initiatives. Let’s label Tim Eyman as good at the job of appealing to people’s basic instincts, such as not enjoying paying taxes (who does?). However, this is not leadership!
