Regarding the article, “Lawsuit filed against county over fatal 2011 crash in Marysville”: Once again, a stretch of road is being targeted as the cause of a death. The loss of young Juan Mendoza and diminished capabilities of Lars Kundu are cause for sadness. But roads and highways do not cause accidents or deaths. People behind the wheels of vehicles do! Anyone who drives west on 108th Street NE knows you need to go 35 mph. That speed has always been adequately posted. This accident was the result of extremely poor judgement and we, the citizens of Snohomish County, should not have to pay millions of dollars to validate that lack of judgement.
