Thirty-five years ago this month, Americans first celebrated Earth Day – a time to shine the spotlight on the importance of conserving this wonderful, and fragile, planet we call home. This year’s theme, “Protect Our Children and Our Future,” is more appropriate than ever, as Congress has before it an important bill that would help do just that.
The Wild Sky Wilderness Act would permanently protect some of our state’s most special wild land – our mountain peaks, ancient forests and salmon spawning streams. Our children deserve to inherit some of this wonderful Earth in its original state, not just what’s left over when loggers, drillers, miners, ORVers, and builders are through.
The time to pass Wild Sky and conserve our wild heritage is now.
