Here we go again, I have lived in the Lake Stevens area since the 1980s. It used to be a small, quiet town, and a nice place to call home. Now every time I read the newspaper, someone or something is in trouble, and Jan Berg is being quoted about the issue. That caused me to pause and realize that there were few, if any issues, before Berg was appointed to her current position as city administrator. It started with the firing of the police chief and it hasn’t slowed down since. Sometimes people are put in positions to which they are not well suited, and I think that is the case here. I realize that she is not the cause of some of the issues, however, I know that personal influence and policy have a large part to play in handling the outcome. I urge the mayor and the council to think about this, as we have.
