While leaving PetSmart recently, I met a woman bringing her darling Shi Tzu mix in for grooming. We talked a bit and she told me she had adopted this little pooch at the Everett Animal Shelter, where it had been left by a private party who had gotten it from a breeder. The dog’s nails were grown into her paws, she had not been taken care of by either the breeder or the private party. This dog clearly loved her adoptive owner. As I drove out, they crossed into PetSmart, with the woman snuggling the little dog.
A gray day was suddenly not so gray. Remember to go to the shelter and not to a breeder to adopt. They have plenty of dogs all ages all breeds who need good homes, and they aren’t out to make a profit from of the misery of animals.
