Ads in support also misleading

Today’s mail yielded a flyer urging us to vote yes on 1183 (ending state liquor stores), saying that ads opposing the measure were “misleading and dishonest.”

A few days earlier we received a similar flyer supporting it, picturing former Gov. Dan Evans, who urged our yes votes. What they didn’t say was that Costco is the prime force behind the campaign, spending millions upon millions of dollars to pass this measure, and Dan Evans has been a member of Costco’s board of directors for many years. Clearly he isn’t just an impartial citizen, judging the issue on its merits. He is, in fact, on Costco’s payroll.

That sounds misleading and deceptive to me, with the pot calling the kettle black.
