I recently saw a news report about Seattle-Tacoma International Airport removing its Christmas trees because of religious disputes. I find it a little odd that they decided to remove the trees altogether instead of considering other options.
I think it would be very creative if the airport, a center of international travel for people of all religions and ethnic backgrounds, to set up a “religious center.” This would consist of symbolic objects of all religions in a designated area, such as a cafeteria, so that everyone can enjoy their religion as well as appreciate other religions.
This would suit our country well because we are the land of equality and freedom of religion. A solution of this type would accomplish these values for the airport and maybe even affect America’s view on censored religious activity.
