Once again we re informed by somebody that our food supply is no good and they even publish report cards. McDonald’s and Wendy’s receiving an “F.” This because they use beef from antibiotic-treated cows. But when I heard about this I went right out and got a Big Mac for lunch. The next day I went to Wendy’s.
The idea that antibiotics in food cause super bacteria is wrong. They use antibiotics to keep all of the millions of cows or chickens healthy as it is the most effective way to make sure a few infected animals do not slip into the food supply.
The best place to actually get infected with a “super” bacteria is your very own neighborhood hospital. The reason for that is pretty simple. That’s where the sickest and most diseased are. The very worst bacteria end up there, so should we avoid hospitals? Actually, maybe you should, unless you are really sick.
We have the safest, cleanest food supply in the world. We have the highest standards (USDA) for quality of any nation on earth. And all restaurants are subject to those standards. So, relax, and go have a Big Mac.
