Appel has brains, heart of great judge

Rarely do voters get the chance to vote for the absolutely perfect person for an elected position, but they’ll have that pleasure soon. George Appel is finally running for Superior Court judge; something many people, myself included, have been encouraging him to do for years. Why? It’s simple. A judge should be smart, fair, hard working, know the law, and be courteous to everyone who appears before them. George fits that description perfectly.

I have been either George’s supervisor or boss for the better part of the last decade, yet I am the one often approaching him for advice. That’s because George has great common sense, and a good head on his shoulders. He is honorable, decent and squeaky clean, too. I can count on George giving sincere consideration to any issue I present; something he will do for all of us as a great Superior Court judge.

I do not endorse candidates often, or do so lightly, but I am extremely happy George is taking this step. On top of that, I am happy to call George a friend and colleague, because he is a great person who I am proud to know. I am completely confident George will make all of us in this county equally proud, as a great addition to our Superior Court bench that is already the best in Washington. George has the experience, demeanor, brains and — most importantly — the heart of a great judge. Put George Appel on the Superior Court bench. You will be glad you did.
