In the fallout of this economic crisis, I wonder why credit card and mortgage applications, along with TV commercials for loans, haven’t slowed down one bit. I wonder why no one has been brought up on charges of any kind and no special prosecutor has been assigned to an investigation. Maybe there’s too many of us with dirt on our own hands and we don’t want to admit it nor do we want to change our behavior.
We don’t care about living beyond our means and we don’t want to think more of others than ourselves. We’d rather have our world filled with instant self-gratification and excess than live a simple and comfortable life.
The stock market is nothing more than legalized gambling and whether you own oil stock, believe the millions we spend on war is justified, you make money with companies who do business unethically, you have several mortgages because you had to have the big toy sitting in the driveway, or you’re deep in credit card debt, you’re partially to blame for the biggest economic crisis since the Great Depression.
This financial balloon has been ready to burst for some time and as long as we fill it with intangible money floating in thin air, we’re asking for trouble.
I haven’t heard anything from our politicians or the fat cats who’ve made millions with other people’s money which will prevent this problem from happening again and gee, I wonder why.
Unfortunately our country’s divided into us, them and who cares. It doesn’t matter which side of the fence you’re on because if you’re not in the clique, you’re still losing your rights and your money. Soon it might be your job and your home. Then it won’t really matter what party you voted for, now will it?
