Are the roads really that bad?

I just cannot believe it — let’s just add another $20 to our $30 license tabs. (March 12 article, “Car tab fees could go up in Snohomish County.”)

Let’s see, the excuse this time is we need to come up with money to fix the potholes on these roads. My question is just how much money is wasted on roads that are perfectly OK? They need to be done anyway, because the money has been set aside for them. I can name a few that this happens to year after year and other ones that need it just get a patch job. Maybe we should look into things like this to save money. After all, my paycheck is not getting any bigger, it is getting smaller and smaller between taxes of all kinds. This is not a good idea.
